ABOUT: It is that time of year again – parents and students are frantically purchasing their school supplies and making their final preparations for the upcoming school year. But while some worry about what pencils to buy their children, others worry about putting a roof over their head or food on their table. That’s where the local Boys Scout Troop 306 comes in.
For the 5th consecutive year, donations were collected by Jamba Juice, Credit Management Associates, Dr. Steve Wilson of Spanish Hills Dental, Westcorp Management Group and were coordinated by Boy Scout Troop 306. Additionally, food donations are being provided by Pizza Hut and Krispy Kreme.
This year, Troop 306 was able to provide supplies for club kids in two local Boys and Girls Clubs which means one less thing that their parents have to worry about. These donations also provide the kids with a sense of normalcy.
The event kicks off the school year with a celebration with both supplies, food and visits from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Officers which help to build a bridge with many kids that could become ‘at risk.’
